Crossing of two vehicles?
Two cars drive towards each other on a test track s = 150m. They start at exactly the same time, waiting for a starting signal.
Car A has an acceleration of a=3m/s^2 and car B has an acceleration of a=6m/s^2.
How long does it take after the starting signal until the two vehicles cross each other?
The equation for the distance covered is
s(t) = 1/2 a t
s1 + s2 = 150m
This allows t to be calculated.
Could you please tell me because I just can’t get on with this task.
I forgot two.
1/2 a1 t2 + 1/2 a2 t2 = 150
1/2 t2(a1 +a2) = 150
You should be able to resolve this after t,
fits!
Thanks for the solution I came to a time of t=5.77s. Is that right?
Why don’t you sign a suitable diagram and look at it graphically? :
Unfortunately, that doesn’t help me because I don’t know how to record it
