Delivery room / ward?
Hello everyone,
I have my due date at the hospital in a few weeks. This is a cesarean section. Can someone please explain to me exactly what the difference is between a delivery room bag and a ward bag? I'm totally confused. Do I take the bag with me to the delivery? And what exactly should go in each bag? Please explain in detail. Thank you.
In the hospital bag are mother passports, if necessary special findings (laboratory results, organ screening, op reports etc.), registration certificate, health insurance card (please clarify for private or supplementary insurance, for which exactly one is insured; One-bed room, Chief Medical Officer?), Documents to apply for the birth certificate.
If necessary, your medication (e.g. thyroid tablets) or appropriate utensils (e.g. blood sugar meter).
Comfortable, quiet clothes and nightwear (front to button), still bras, slippers, bathrobe, thick socks, large underpants or net pants, hygiene articles, towels, clothing for you and the baby for the ride home and also on a transport tray or the like (but your partner can bring it only on the release day).
Your weekly bead and diapers, care articles and clothing for the baby during the stay are usually held by the hospital.
Things for the pastime you will need less. Between breastfeeding, winding, investigations, sleep and visit, hours pass by simply admiring your child. But of course you can also pack a book or the like.
As a rule, you will move your room to the weekly station and leave your stuff.
What you need for the relatively short preparation time before the surgery and for about 2 hours of surveillance later in the Kreißsaal is your responsibility. Camera? Lip care pencil? Glasses? If you lack something vital, your partner can get it from the station.
Still a small gift tip: Still cushions are really practical, afford good services already in the hospital and are still very comfortable for cumin on the sofa for years later.
Happy for you and a healthy pregnancy!
