This depends, among other things, on what conditions your bank has for payments with this card abroad or in foreign currencies. Partly, a fee of 1 Euro or more is required for each payment, which in particular disproportionately increases payments of smaller amounts. The costs for payment to ATMs abroad are also different.

In addition, it is basically appropriate to have at least two different cards in the country.

With a Maestro Card you won’t get far abroad because there is no longer this function there. A credit card would make sense here.

Maestro is still available and is expected to be available at least until 2027, only no new cards are issued.

Here you can find a suitable one for you, because Mastercard “Maestro” has set its payment service until the end of June 2023. The Commission shall inform the Commission of the reasons set out in the first subparagraph of paragraph 2.
