Kreditkarte 1000 € Limit / Autovermietung?
Hallo, ich möchte ein Mietauto in Griechenland mieten und kann dies nur über die Kreditkarte tun. Das Problem ist, dass die Vermietung des Autos 450,00 € kostet und die Blockierung der Kaution 800 € beträgt. Laut Freunden überschneidet sich die ganze Geschichte und ich werde am Flughafen wahrscheinlich kein Auto ausgehändigt bekommen. Ich dachte immer, dass die 800,00 € Blockierung irrelevant sind für das Limit der Kreditkarte, da erst ein Schaden eintreten muss, um die Kaution einbehalten zu müssen. Ich bin bei der Sparkasse und habe die graue Kreditkarte von Mastercard. Jeder sagt mir was anderes und die Bank geht nichts ans Telefon ran. Was ist nun richtig und was falsch?

The limit is there to block the deposit if the limit cannot be blocked. The company could not burden your card if anything had happened and that would be a stupid security.
But simple solution : Overriding additional balances in the amount of difference (+ one schnapps more for security). Then you have limit + credit available.
You can also pay € 450 in advance.
Thank you for answer but I have no way to transfer money to the credit card. There is a valid IBAN all the time.
Just call your savings bank on Monday and let the limit increase. This sometimes happens temporarily if you don’t want a permanently higher limit. Of course, you can also ask if a transfer to the credit card account is possible.
The blocked amount must be available, otherwise there is no sense. Today you won’t reach the bank. Increase the limit. There is certainly the possibility to transfer something to the KK account. Are you travelling alone or with someone who also has a KK?
