Sick pay when unemployed?
Hi
I have the problem that I was fired on October 15th and am on sick leave because of my depression.
I have a question about what I should do after October 15. I've already registered as job seeker and unemployed.
Although I don't know if that's relevant, since I'll most likely be unable to work for a longer period of time. I'll, of course, seek help as soon as I can.
Now the questions that are on my mind are:
How do I get money if I am still unable to work? As far as I know, the health insurance companies only come to my rescue with their sick pay after 6 weeks.
My second question is how and where am I insured? I read somewhere that you can still receive health insurance benefits for up to one month after being fired. Will the job center cover this even if I'm not receiving unemployment benefits?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
EmploymentGo!You can only report from 15.10., and you have not been announced, but You.
After six weeks of unemployment benefit, there are sickness benefits.
You don’t seem depressive to me.
How do you know who’s depressed and who isn’t? Absolutely unfriendly.
Read correctly:
I thank you for the answer, but to submit to me that I am not depressed is unfair. You don’t know my life situation and you don’t know what happened to me in the last few years.
Read correctly:
After 6 weeks you’ll get sick money. The unemployment benefit rests at this time and continues after the illness.
I’m sorry to hear you’re in this difficult situation. I hope I can help you somehow.
How do you get money if you’re still incapable of working?
If you are incapable of work and you continue to be ill-written after your termination, first, for up to six weeks, your employer’s wage repayment, if you were still ill-written at the time of the termination and this medical prescription goes beyond the termination date. After these six weeks the wage advancement ends and you are entitled to Health insurance.
What should you do?
– Extend your health report: If you continue to be incapable of work after 15.10., you should make sure that your illness continues seamlessly.
– Stay in touch with the health insurance fund: Inform your health insurance early on that you are longer ill-written so that the transition to the health insurance works smoothly.
– Contact with the job center: clarification with the job center how the health insurance costs are taken over if you temporarily don’t get sick pay and also don’t receive unemployment benefit.
– Financial security: Once the six weeks of wage advance payment are over, you can receive the sickness benefit from the sickness fund. Make sure that you regularly provide medical certificates to maintain the entitlement to sickness benefit.
I hope this information will help you!
I thank you for the words that really means a lot to me. I still have a small question. Did I understand that the employer has to pay my wages after 15:10?
If you have been ill-written before the end of your employment relationship, the six-week wage advance payment also goes beyond the termination date. This means that your employer must continue to pay your wages by the end of the six weeks, even if the employment relationship is officially over.
Example:
If you have been ill-written on September 20 and the medical prescription is continuous, the six-week wage payment ends on November 1st. Your employer must continue to pay your wages by this date, even if the employment relationship ends on 15.10.
Summary:
– Yes, the employer must continue to pay you wages after 15.10. if your medical prescription started before 15.10. and you are sick throughout, but only until the maximum of six weeks is reached.
As soon as the six weeks of wage advancement end, the sickness fund will start with the sickness benefit.
