Kraftstoffverbrauch E46?

vielen Dank

The fuel consumption can be continuously regulated with the small lever at the bottom right in the driver’s foot space.

Especially in the city, the little one is probably hard to drive the heavy 225 tires. But there are 11 liters in the middle. It’s called “per 100 km.” You can drive long until you get them in town.

So it should not be at the Sprit because in urban traffic the load is hardly sufficient to get into a relevant area (if you drive human) and the tyre size itself is not such a decisive factor. I’ll try to list a few points that might be responsible here:

  • Short distance: When a motor is cold, it still has much inner friction that has to be overcome and thus increases consumption. In the case of gasoline, the cold start enrichment is added, i.e. because the gasoline does not have to be overdosed quickly enough, and this has to be partially quite violent. If you only drive 1-2km a bit, you can quickly double your consumption and more.
  • no foreseeable driving style: Especially in urban traffic you have a lot of Stop & Go. In order to reduce the consumption, the motor brake should be used as often as possible instead of braking, i.e., for example, not driving to a red light at constant speed and then braking at the end, but letting the car roll out with an engaged gear. Often you can even avoid a stop when the traffic light jumps back to green.
  • too little air pressure on the tires/bad tires: in urban transport, the rolling friction plays a major role, so be careful that the tires have the prescribed air pressure, but also 0.2 bar more. Also, tyres with good rolling resistance can help reduce consumption
  • too low gear selection: Many drive in the city in a too low gear. Just on longer distances with 50 not stay in the 3rd gear, but switch into the 4th or 5th (must try a little what your car can get there)
  • Unnecessary weight: weight increases rolling and acceleration resistance, thus reducing unnecessary weight
  • Start gas: Some people tend to start gas. Do not do, is pure waste

I think you’ll find something.

The small E46 are more thirsty in relation to performance than the big ones.

I drive an E46 330Ci and arrive on average at a consumption of 11-12 liters 🤷
