Diarrhea in horses, what helps?
Hey, my horse has had diarrhea for several months and nothing helps.
The thing is, nothing has changed at the stable, everything is the same as always. We've been there for over two years. I've tried everything. Food is also all special for the stomach. Anyway, he's had it for months and nothing helps 🙄
Anyone have any tips?!
Vllt is just that the problem that nothing changes (at the stable…). Kotwasser can have many causes. Bad hay/scream, scatter, haylage, untreated pastures with high worm pressure, false feeding, too long fress pauses, organic things such as stomach ulcer, irritable intestine, liver, etc. up to psychological stress due to boxing, too little social contacts, but also too large herds with too much change, stress when man comes…
What’s been all about diagnostics? What have you already tried all of the supplements, especially for faeces?
that can have so many causes…. feeding, general attitude. But it can also be in the weather. And my mare has it sometimes when it gets rusty.
What often – but not always – helps is the horse Klinofeed to feed. Try it.
Could be a lot:
bad hay or straw,
stress due to overreach during training or stress due to boxing,
Gastric ulcers, or just by the weather. Better get the veterinarian and let him look at it, otherwise also think about training plan or similar. And the skin-friendly food is not always the best for the horse, if it has nothing in the stomach.
And if this has been the case for a long time with the cot water, it is not good because the horse loses many minerals and the like.
Maybe bad hay quality?
Then there were several horses.
Stand by in a stable, there were many horsers of cot water, mine also at the smallest stress (e.g. new riders). Then I changed and it was nothing. A well-known had a horse with permanent faeces there, since stable change completely gone. Lay everything on this incredibly bad hay that is fed there.
The TA would have to pick up to judge what it might be.
