Will parents/children cover the costs?

Hi, I'm 17 and currently doing an apprenticeship. I get about €650 net per month. I currently live with my dad (he earns a good salary). I don't have to pay rent or contribute to any other expenses. But I have to pay for clothes and other things myself. My question: Is it wrong to expect an additional €20-€50 per month for clothing? Not to mention, he also receives €250 in monthly child benefit.

I'm interested in your opinion and how this is/was handled in your area.

Sure it’s wrong!

What do you think you live and eat, etc.

You live for free, don’t pay for food, etc. and get 650 euros net remuneration.

Of this, you can pay your own needs without further financial contributions, of which you should even be able to save monthly.

What is with your mother’s maintenance, because it would be obliged to pay for you according to the adjusted net income?

Of your net remuneration, 100 Euros per month remain free for training-related expenses, so it would max. 550 Euro adjusted net remuneration remain.

As long as you are still minor and live with the father, half of the EUR 550, i.e. EUR 275, would be counted on the cash to be paid from the mother to your father and half of the child benefit if it were to pay the minimum fee according to the table in Düsseldorf according to its adjusted net income.

It could then deduct half the child’s money from EUR 125 from the amount in the Düsseldorf table.

From the completion of the 18 year of your life, you have to assert your dependent claims yourself, namely for both parents, then the maintenance must be recalculated according to the adjusted net income of both parents.

The child’s money would then be fully and no longer only paid to your maintenance claim, as well as the full adjusted net remuneration of assumed 550 euros.

Until the end of the 21 year of your life, you can then contact the competent youth office from the end of the 18 year of your life due to the calculation.

You have 650 € available for free (pocket + clothing) and expect your father to pay a fee for clothing after it comes up for all fixed costs such as rent, electricity, insurance, food, cleaning products… Or did I get something wrong?

You have 650 euros free of charge. It’s just like sprinkling. And yes, it would be too bad to expect dress money.

Yeah, your father’s gonna get some money for you. But you also cost (Essen, Strom, Internet….)

You don’t have to keep buying clothes because you grow out. And if you want to afford the luxury “actually what new” you just have to go by – as part of the allowed – jobben

Well, if I (17) need what and want to have money, then my parents go with or at least want to see what I want to buy. Otherwise, I have to pay myself, is also completely understandable.

You’re funny…

You don’t pay any cost and don’t pay for rent, electricity, water distribution and disposal, heating, land tax, building insurance, garbage disposal, road cleaning, channel fee, house money for management, care and maintenance of the community property, food, household, internet access, liability and accident insurance, driving costs, hygiene articles, detergents…(not to forget, for this is child’s money)

Happy for you!

650€ are completely enough for clothes.

The child’s money is for insurance, electricity costs, food, extra costs, etc and does not cover anything that you are cooking.
