Can secondary school students receive a scholarship for a student exchange?

I would really like to spend a year abroad, but I don't have enough money (both my parents earn just over €12 per month, so €12,200 is too much). I was considering applying for a scholarship for this. Can I get one as a high school student?

Hello

a student exchange is a good idea. To ask yours:

  • Real students can also make a student exchange. This usually takes place after the completion of the real school.
  • Special scholarships for real students awarded the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung
  • Interesting sit: Real students can get scholarships as well as all other exchange students. So you can apply dicvh to all stipendia.
  • Scholarships are awarded by state bodies and companies and foundations. Some exchange companies also award scholarships to their customers as a subsequent discount on the program price.
  • In particular for the USA, the German Bundestag awards the sog, PPP scholarships
  • A good overview of scholarships in the student exchange scholarship database and tips for application can be found here
  • As important as scholarships are other contributions to financing, including Foreign BAFÖG.
  • If you use all the possibilities, you can greatly reduce your family’s own contribution. Details here

To Procedure: The student exchange is a larger project. You should do that systematically:

Apply yes, but next to the PPP you don’t need another. (But I have made the PPP selection in our constituency today, there is already good competition, so it is absolutely necessary to ask several places)
