Yes, they can. With or without iron, some of the snow can be swollen on smooth ice or hard snow. In the case of horseshoe, the horseshoe can use corresponding “Vidia pins” (mounted) or even mount cleats (mounted or screw-out). This gives better grip on such surfaces.

Advantages and disadvantages of such a fitting, however, are another issue.

And yet an iron with pens or studs holds a little less than a barhuf.

you can’t say that at the same time – I had had barefoot horses, which slipped so much that for safety reasons we read the winter only in the OS and pasture. Smaller horses (e.g. Isis) with a deep focus are much easier than larger horses – but I don’t want to sit on son Bock who slept over an ice plate. My own bones are too valuable.

Barhuf, of course, would like to strive, but where it is not possible (due to ground technology or yard) is not possible. I always say “Safety First” – for humans and animals and I never take a risk. 😉

Then the processing is usually of the type “don’t cut the sole” or just make too little. However, the health disadvantages are greater than the disadvantage that they slide. A well-managed barhuf holds much better than anything else – in addition to the health benefits also a reason why I will never sit on a beaten horse again and not on one with shoes in winter.

With Isis I have almost nothing to do, so Hjalti has to ask, I have rather light warm-blooded, like with whole blood content from 1.70 size.

Of course. Especially when they have iron. You can make pens and studs in there, but the safest is for a horse in smoothness. Even then, it can still slip.

Hello,

Yeah, that’s possible. That’s why you always have to watch out and garde on horses you have to watch that they don’t fall off!!! So always nicely careful with smooth ice!!!!

I hope I could help you

Oh, yeah!

The Hufschmied can make spikes on the iron.

There are moving creatures on the ground that cannot slip in smoothness. The laws of physics apply equally to all.

To take the question seriously. Horses can fall well because they are heavy and the focus is relatively high.

Of course they can

yes, they don’t like it

BurkeUndCo

Of course.

If it is really perfectly smooth, then everything slips and really everyone.

Punkgirl512

Of course. Like everything else.

Peas counters

If I think about what I’m riding with Barhufern, where I would have liked to miss out on beaten horses for my freedom of injury…

In only a few situations, cleats are superior to the barhuf, but then those cleats with which you can not leave a horse for 24 hours.

No, not pea counters! A horse without iron can also run reasonably reasonable on smooth ground – one with iron not! This is immediately on the nose if you do not make the iron non-slip (stifs, cleats,…).

Punkgirl512

No.

“trotz” is the opposite of “way”.

The horses with iron slip extremely.
