Komma bei dem Satz vor und?

Ich hoffe Herr Ing. xxxxxx hat den Urlaub gut verbracht(,) und ich wollte den Bürgermeister um einen Termin bitten ,da wir dringend eine Wohnung suchen.

Sollte man hier ein Komma setzen ?

If two main sentences are connected to the word “and” no comma needs to be set. That’s the rule I notice.

Since there are two main sets, you can put a comma, but don’t have to be.

I used to learn that no comma is set before a “and”. Meanwhile, it’s a little more open, you can put one, but you don’t have to.

Yes, there must be a comma – just like after I hope. Both commas surround the auxiliary Mr. Ing. … spent.

The main sentence is: I hope (this and that) and I wanted to ask….
