Found a great tit baby?

Hello

Today I found two baby birds on the ground, one was still alive and the other was already dead.

I'm not sure what's best for the baby. So far, we've been giving it water with a splash, which it really wanted because it was very hot today. It's eaten a little and even caught a dead fly.

Now I've put it in a small box with some Zewa, some straw, and dog fur. It's squeaking all the time; maybe it's hungry? It's still blind. I also have a photo of it.

What should I do? What kind of food? What's best for the baby? Maybe someone knows exactly what kind of bird it is?

We wanted to put it back in the nest but couldn't find a nest.

If he’s still alive… Please go to FB to the Wild Bird Help Group. There are professionals and several breeding stations.

Please don’t give water. This goes easily into the trachea and the small suffocate or get pneumonia.

Take the coat out. This can be sculpted around the feet and lead to death, as well as swallowed and lead to death.

Also remove the straw. Make a kind of donut from a towel and put the chick in the middle. It should be upright. Under the chick some kitchen roll ect for easier cleaning.

Such a naked chick must be warm with high humidity. In the FB group, a file is a guide to the construction of an incubator.

Do not use red light. It dries out.

No flourworms feed, no rainworms, dried insects, finished powder, bread, meat etc. It’s all completely inappropriate.

Transitionally, freshly dead flies go. Zb some meat into the open places and flies then catch.

Long-term grilling/hot from the zoologist. Fresh dead. Heats freezing, remove legs/wings by shaking the box ect. Drain into some water and then feed. All you can do is get the portion you just feed. It’s gonna die fast.

Just freeze some grills first. The others put zb in an empty washing powder box (e.g. on the dm so transparent) and feed with some vegetables etc. then they are healthier food.

Feeding from sunrise to sunset. Depending on the condition and age all 1-2h

These are the most important tips. But please come to the group. So winelings belong in professional hands.

There’s an animal rescue with me in Bonn. Maybe with you. I’d call a veterinarian for food and liquid what to do.

It’s blind and almost undamaged! What are you talking about? Does this look like you can sit on a branch?

This is definitely a nestling that could not survive outside the nest. When you get to a catching station.

Sometimes moths and other birds give up their brood when they are disturbed young birds are usually fed by parents with insects larvae but if you don’t know what a bird it is then better to a catching station. But you also have to make sure that such a chick does not pass through. For the way in itself, this is not tragic because singing birds breed several times a year. Losses happen again and again. However, they rise through the insect morbidity.

It also happens that other singing birds remove the chicks of smaller species from the nest or from a nest box of a nest cave because they want this place for themselves.

To get flourworms today at the Zooshop. It takes food fast.

Au weia, if that gets something. Eat it only does insects. You should put it in a tiny little box, not bigger than a bird’s nest. It also needs warmth. Best of a lamp. It doesn’t have to drink. It doesn’t get anything to drink in the nest.

But I wouldn’t have much hope.

Did you ever see if there’s a bird catching station near you?
