Clinic?
Hello, I'm Lucia and I'm 15 years old. I've been struggling with unhealthy eating habits since 2021, and in 2022, I realized I have an eating disorder. My parents don't really take mental health seriously. My mother, in particular, isn't interested at all. I'm currently going through a phase where it's getting really bad again. I don't know what to do. I had a doctor's appointment a few months ago for a check-up, and they weighed me there. I was 159cm tall and 52kg. I have another appointment now, probably in November or December. I'm now 160cm tall and weigh 43kg. Will my pediatrician notice this and suspect an eating disorder? I can't imagine any other way out…
Even if she shouldn’t remember (while a weight loss in the area should be noticed) and you should address it at any time. Especially when you know that you have a problem. It doesn’t matter what your parents think about it.
Hey, so she’ll certainly react to it and at least respond to it. It is important that you tell her how it is and that you would like to have help. Then at least one therapy should be started if you come to a clinic I don’t know
Hey, that’s absolutely fine when the doctor realizes that and that’s good too. That’s the only way you can be helped. Be aware that you need to get rid of the eating disorder as soon as possible, as this is a vicious circle from which it becomes more and more difficult to get out of!
I can recommend the book “Friss or Stirb” and the podcast “Iss easy”!
