Adhesive for the entire headliner – Alternative DIY car headliner?

Hello.

Which adhesive is recommended for the entire headliner of a minivan (Grand Voyager)?

The size also affects the price.
There's a special headliner adhesive available, 100ml for €4.29 from China with a brush in the screw cap. Or €3.39 with two extra brushes.
But no information about how many ml you need per m².
And whether it can be applied well with a brush…
Every centimeter has to be glued.
In the product photos you can even see photos of headliners that are completely hanging down.
Is it even possible to spread something like this thinly enough with a brush?
This is what the material looks like:

This foam-like covering looks very delicate.
You can see it in the places where it crumbled away just by touching it.
Do you leave it on both sides?
Brushing it on would certainly rub off the material, and then you'd just have a lumpy mass.
If not, can you still do something with the thin cloth if you remove the material and wash it?
I could completely remove the tile itself and remove it from the flooring before applying something new or "new" (any tips on "upcycling" material that is "disposed of" in the classifieds, etc.?).

Estimated to be ~2.65m long and possibly ~1.25m wide.
