Horse breeds that children love?

Hi,

I'm looking for horse breeds that are friendly to children. I mean, a pony-sized horse with a calm disposition and easy to handle. What breeds are there? I can only find the one in the photo. Maybe even horse breeds that you can put children on!

Thanks !

Kassisch Lieb stur is often Haflinger, Isländer , similar to Norweger.

New Forest and Deutsches Reitpony are both considered to be well-equipped and willing to learn, the Deutsche Reitpony is highly efficient. Child love is both.

Welsh per section slightly different often the little ones somewhat more nervous, section D quite balanced.

Tinker balanced character, intelligence, curiosity as well as inclination to strength. Attention rather than riding horse, quite large but only low load capacity. Need an extremely good back school, meeting often quite difficult to achieve.

Lewitzer classic pony/small horse friendly temperament, durable, fast regeneration capability, efficient

But are just about what the race profile is. Deviations in all directions possible.

Always look what I want to achieve with the pony, so there is a direction for the profile. From there it is only about price, own taste and availability. Considering the respective pony caracter.

can only be found by the…

if you want to kill a little child, put it on a shetland-partbred… shetland partbred are bred for sports. 98% of them you can’t trust a child.

  • lewitzer pony – maybe
  • ink pony – maybe
  • Icelandic – perhaps
  • German reitpony – perhaps (appears to the savvy underrace, but the small sports horses that are dr to 90% can be sorted out immediately), the rest must be suitable as a children’s pony to have regular professional ride and correction.
  • norweger – possibly. for smaller children too wide and too large
  • new forest pony – never
  • connemara pony – no, no and no.
  • haflinger – see norweger
  • welsh pony – sekt a maybe (when not too much noble blood, in which are usually welsh-ponies partbred, regular correction work by a pro is indispensable, character is usually child-friendly, performance and movement claim is that of a sport horse)
  • welsh pony – sekt b are small “bloods”, already from the volume for smaller children not the true
  • welsh c and welsh cob – too big and too big for smaller children
  • dartmoor pony – there are 3 lines that have set their focus on “nanny-sense” and on correct anatomy and are well in sight. from about 5 years find a good place to sit. the ponys, however, need to compensate for their performance requirements – for example with an adult and in front of a sulky in the grounds.

further:

  • gotland pony – similar to the norweger in the optics. balanced spirit. suitable for children from about 10 years
  • konik – how gotland pony
  • shetland pony – good child and labor pony, WENN watch dressage papers and good reviews. a good shetty has no tripping walks and offers neat seating for children from about 5 years. is in a position to participate well as riding and driving pony.
  • mongolenpony – seatable for children from about 7 years. land-safe and enduring. suitable for riding lessons, not for riding rider.
  • altai-pony – like mongolenpony, frequent problems with the extremely short saddle layer. beautiful schaupony. interesting “bunte” colors. for advanced children. grundgangarten more beautiful than at the mongolen.
  • suitable for children is everything that was drawn on the basis of the old pony-land breeds. they were bred from too small riding and workhorses, have mostly got a small shot of arab or full blood in the past and are the races that have always been for children to ride and drive. most are fox, mold or wild brown. there are them in each country combined in the books of the respective returns. belgien, frankreich, polen, denmark, tschechien, ungarn, spanien, portugal.
  • merens pony, when bred and raised in human-obhut.

shetland ponys have a maximum stock size of 1.10m, dartmoor between 1.18m and 1.28m

So the Deutschereitpony is nothing for beginners and spirited

Tinkers can sometimes be very tough

Norway and harflinger are very selfish

In welsh pony, lewitzer I find good

It’s rarely race-dependent. To some of the breeds you mentioned, I’ve got experiences:D

I used to ride an Isi for a while, I was so ca. 20 years old and the Isi with 10 years still a regular boy’s pund who meant to have to test his boundaries everywhere, whether in the place or in the terrain at the stretched gallop : the child’s love was so not at all and cheeky about it 😀

I’ve also experienced action at a Tinker 10.

My last RB was an Arab riding pony mix and also nice to children but only when adults were there, riding alone only goes with enough enforcing ability, unthinkable on site.

On the other hand, I’ve experienced a totally “trotteligen” Norriker who would have worn a whole school class on his back everywhere. The “Deppi” has heard on command and more than Trab was not in it anyway, he was too lazy.

Also had an Arab in Beritt, who was partially ridden by a child (approx. 12), also lammfrom, not at all explosive or wild.

A breed is not a guarantee of child-friendliness. All of the breeds you have listed can be as good bite, the Kiddies buck, kick, etc. All a question of education and training.

With us in the neighbouring riding school all possible breeds run. Most warm-blooded, but also three Arabs are among them.

But they are more suitable for size. As I said, everything else is a matter of training.
