Does anyone know any socially critical hits?
Apart from Udo Jürgens (if you want to classify him as a Schlager singer), I don't know any.

Or rather, why do they still make the one-eye sign? The comments are clear. The sign is evil. Everyone's talking about it in the comments. So why do celebrities still do it?
Hi, I'm going to the Coldplay concert in Munich tomorrow. Since this is also my first concert, I wanted to ask if there's a time limit (like in the movies)? I'm not really interested in the two opening acts, so I could save myself the two hours 🙂 Thanks!
Hello, I really want to start playing the violin. But I really don't know how to begin. Should I go to a music school instead? And if so, would it be better if I got a violin and practiced before lessons? I should mention that I've never actually played an instrument before. I'm fairly familiar…
There are serious and demanding hits with good lyrics, but socially critical one can only find songs or chansonniers, to which I count Udo Jürgens, or in the New German Wave (“Karl der Käfer” etc.) or in the classic German rock, where, for example, Klaus Lage with “Monopoli” would fall into my mind – which in 1985 had to do so in the ZDF-Hitparade

Socially critical hits by classical hit singers are extremely rare, after some reflections I only fell in the song “Smog in Frankfurt” by Michael Holm and “A couple are always over the clouds” as well as “Woman without Tomorrow” by Howard Carpendale … but I am also not a real hit fan and after 2000 missed the connection to the genre.

Here is the benefit song “Who closes the eyes will never see the truth” of the project “Mut zur Menschlichkeit”, there is even one Wikipedia entry. There were several hit stars like Wolfgang Petry, Bernhard Brink, G.G. Anderson, Edward Simoni, Karel Gott, Roberto Blanco, Ibo and others.

Frank Schöbel is still here with “We don’t need any more lies”, but this is almost going in the direction of Protest song (was a song against the GDR regime) and “Ostrock” like Karat, the Puhdys or City – Frank Schöbel was also always a singer who wasn’t classical for Schlager.

The day Conny Kramer died
My friend of the tree
White pigeons (I think so)
And there are such a few marginal things (in the sense of percussion groups),
Charlemagne and such things
Thank you. Right, with the older stuff.
I don’t know if my tip or bands count as a hit singer. But still socially critical: “FLOH DE COLOGNE” or “AMON DÜL”. If not, go to the labour market (vinyl inherited from Oppa)

Okay, but is that hit?
Yes
No. Falco would turn around in the tomb if you would call his music a hit.
No! This is FALCO! 🤩
Oh, cool.
Why, because the song is German? This has as much to do with hits as classics with techno
But…
