Keeping North Sea crabs in an aquarium?
Hello, I need your help!
I found a crab (looks like a lobster) on the street with its claws cut off. Since I now assume this creature wouldn't survive in the sea, I'd like to keep it in an aquarium to give it a reasonably good rest of its life. I'm a vegan myself, so eating it is out of the question for me – I want to save the animal!
Can someone help me and tell me what I should pay attention to?
First of all, the species should be determined so that you know whether it is a salt or seawater dweller. Appearance like "a lobster" can actually be a real lobster (who throws the hell away please?) that is a saltwater dweller, or eg Florida , which lives in freshwater and is one of the invasive species in that country.
Only after a safe destiny can you be told how this animal can be kept.
I added another picture of cancer. I hope you can determine which animal it is.
Not really, I just hold dwarf cigarettes. If you didn't find him just near the North or Baltic Sea, it should be a freshwater. The Jonas0099 already has a guess.
This looks like camber or signal cancer. Very invasive and almost exterminated the domestic cancers. Please do not bring it into water.
The way you want to keep it in the aquarium needs fresh water and cold water.
It would be more sensitive to redeem him if he had no more jokes. In addition, these animals may not be traded, traded, etc. because they are on the index.
Purely interested: Do they need their scissors to eat, or do they have other ways to eat food?
I don't think they're coming, but I don't know what this is. In nature they lead with the sheer food to the mouth, hold firm and shred food.
That would be like a dog or a cat who would have to be taken off the front or rear runs, they could live further but in this case I find it better to redeem the animal as a normal arttypical life is not possible.
Yeah, I don't think the cancer has to be tortured. In nature, he would have it behind him….
So cruel nature sometimes appears, you have to let nature handle things yourself. Especially since these cancers are a real plague and they endanger many domestic animals.
Thank you for your answer! Do you think it's the best alternative?
In another frum, someone said the scissors would grow back with time.
Thanks for the explanation!
For an art-friendly attitude of the crabs in the aquarium, the Aquaterrarium should best be able to grasp the 100L and secure any escape routes – the small crabs are skillful climbers and escape easily. When a crab is removed, it is best to put a flat bowl with water.
Thank you for your answer 🙂
You have to find out if it's a salt or freshwater animal.
