It is best to ask the dealer to what size you can go and then you have to enter the TÜV.

No, it’s the size that’s in the vehicle license. That’s why they’re here. Just the one and no other.

If the larger tyres are registered, this is not a problem.

Yes, of course, if the size is allowed, that goes.

Only you don’t have a choice of rims on the bike. Therefore no other tyre dimensions. And there is no advantage to mount other tires.

With motorcycles, without any technical changes, there is hardly any possibility to drive tyre sizes other than those specified in the papers. And even there you have to be careful to get tires that have a release for exactly your vehicle. In addition, front and rear tyres of the same manufacturer and factory must be.

In contrast to the car, one often has only one or two sizes in the registration certificate, but it is also possible to drive all wheel tire combinations, which are approved for more motorized structural models, as well as to drive left Michelin in the car and right Linling, they only have to correspond to the same size and meet the minimum load capacity. Even if HR tyres are required, you can also drive a single, 2, 3 or four SR tyres, with only one sticker having the highest speed of the weakest tire into the dashboard.

Is probably more than in the vehicle registration

Jein. If you get into a police check, the policeman wants to see the bill. If there’s something else than on the tire, you’re not legal.

However, manufacturers often see several tyre sizes. These are, for example, in the user manual or in the COC papers. Apparently, work tires or (for older motorcycles) are the smallest size recommended by the manufacturer.

If you want to drive a different size than the one that is in appearance, you have to change it. This is not a great deal of effort and quickly done. Without registration, however, you are illegally on the move, no matter what the vehicle manufacturer or the tyre manufacturer provides for documents. In Germany, there is only one thing that is registered in appearance.

If you want to drive another tire dimension, you have to put it in the TÜV.
