Buying a Canon mf657cdw printer from alza on-site service?
Is a 3-year on-site warranty available for the Canon i-sensys mf657cdw printer if you purchase the printer from the Alza online shop?
According to Canon, the warranty is valid for 3 years: https://www.canon.at/offers/buro-drucker-scanner-aktion/terms-and-conditions/
However, Canon states in point 8, "Used, refurbished, or renewed products, or plagiarized and counterfeit products that infringe Canon's intellectual property rights (including but not limited to "gray products" or OEM products) are expressly excluded from the promotion. More information about OEM products can be found here ."
I don't see if the printer is a genuine Canon product. I can't complete the OEM link because the "i-sensys mf657cdw" printer isn't selectable.
I'm therefore considering whether I should return the device immediately. According to the dealer, Alza, "There's no 3-year on-site warranty." If I don't get that, I certainly won't pay €450 to be ripped off, especially since Alza wants €80 for a 3-year warranty, and Canon's 3-year offer is free.
Alza doesn’t have to offer you any services that Canon promises.
Alza is a dealer and must comply with the statutory warranty. With the manufacturer’s warranty they have nothing to do with it. And if your own guarantees are offered there, then also on the terms of the dealer.
For the manufacturer warranty, the manufacturer comes up, not the dealer. And so you will only receive their promotion if you purchase the printer directly from the manufacturer.
Nobody’s fucking you. You just fell in on error, throwing warranty and guarantee in a pot. The confusing thing is that the manufacturer and also the dealer can offer guarantees, but do not have to!
Fact is if Alza should fall under point 8 I send the printer unopened right away. And yes to buy directly from Canon does not go because sold out its webshop….
