Cat doesn't groom itself?

Hello to all cat experts, I have an important question. I've had a British Shorthair cat for about three months. He's a 6-month-old male and very sweet. The problem is that he doesn't groom himself after going to the bathroom. In his free time, he likes to groom his arms, stomach, etc., but never his lower body after going to the bathroom. Because of this, I'm getting more and more annoyed with my mom. I tried spraying a little water with a water spray bottle, but unfortunately it didn't help much. What should I do?

Good morning Zenia736,

If cats don’t clean properly, that’s always a sign of behavioral disorder. Because cats are very, very pure animals and do not like it when it is unclean. In the outside and also on them themselves.

So your concern is entitled that something may not be right.

I’ve seen your cute picture of your BKH kit in your timeline three months ago. Really delightful! 🙂

I’m sorry you write that you’re greeding with a water spray bottle. Please don’t do this anymore. That scares your young cat and she doesn’t know what you want from her.

Your BKH kit is still very young and I couldn’t find anywhere in your profile whether the cat is in individual posture or has a cat buddy to play.

If she/he is a single cat, then the lack of old care may also be attributable to it, and the kitten may have been separated too early from the mother cat and has not learned to clean herself properly.

In addition, there are cats that always have a bit of feces in the afterfolds. I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong. You may feel it stronger than it is in reality, and it may also be a normal, small impurity with your cat who have some “back there”. 😉

You should clean your cat with a damp, warm cloth. Not anymore.

Perhaps it is also the feed that gets the young animal and the consistency of the cote is not as it should be.

I’d like 4 things to do.

  • please carefully clean
  • please add a cat cube
  • please critically question feed quality
  • please consult a vet

Best regards from DaLi♀️ ♀️, Leo😺 and Mishu😺

A supplement:Cats don’t like to clean up the after, because they don’t get there anymore, because too thick! If your cat should be quite stubborn (more than 2 kilos), then it takes a diet to remove the animal and get to its after.

Until then, since cats always have to taste everything, you could take odorless coconut oil (healthy) and taste very little of it on the after. The cat won’t be able to do anything other than rub it off. In addition, the coconut oil softens the dried cot slightly and maintains the sensitive after skin.

Ah “lower area” is his penis? That’s weird. Maybe he’s in pain?

What is important: Many cats do not clean after the cloak. This is a behavior in humans, but not in cats. Sometimes they do it hours later.

Cats are then sprinkled within an extensive plaster. That can be many, many hours after the cloister.

That’s normal behavior.

Did he look at the penis? Because they don’t usually do that without asking. In addition, the cat is gender-ready and the spine ring develops.
