Cat eats little and is calmer after giving birth?

Good day,

Our little kittens are already a month old. Our young female cat has become very quiet after giving birth, constantly somewhat exhausted, and is eating much less than she usually did when she gave birth to her kittens. But when she sees or catches a mouse, I've noticed that she practically devours them or small animals, much more than the food we give her, which was her favorite before the pregnancy. Can anyone tell me if it's normal for a mother cat to be so quiet, somewhat exhausted, and eat less? She does eat a little, but not much. I would be grateful for any helpful answers. Thank you.

Best regards,

rose

Such a birth is not easy, even for a cat. She probably still purifies the little ones and has to teach them everything they need to be cats.

A visit to the veterinarian would certainly not be wrong, so that it can be explained whether the birth was good. Otherwise you need patience.

Attention: Transfer from the dog!

The dog of my aunt developed allergies that were not there before after the birth of the puppies. Accordingly, she did not eat the food anymore.

Have you done a food incompatibility test after the birth of kittens?

Some animals show strong reactions, others only light. Our female only stumbled as incompatibility – otherwise everything was as usual. But I know that animals know if something is not good, then they avoid it.

The female of my aunt then responded to fish oil and chicken at once. And you didn’t recognize that right away.

How much of the dry food for the kittens does it eat over the day?
Do I get it right that the cat didn’t know this dry food before the birth and didn’t get to eat?
