This cartoon is an appeal to the society in France before the revolution in 1789.

The nobility and the clergy, the nobility, suppress the rest of the population (the Third Stand and the peasants).

On the caricature, the third stand lies under a huge stone, whereupon the Schmarotzer (Adel + Klerus) stand. The man under the stone is totally exhausted.

As a comment below, the most useful were kicked with feet.

Can you see the Firgures?
In which position are they shown? Who has the “most powerful” position in the caricature? Does this match the real life? To what extent or why (possibly) not?
What is shown in the vicinity? What is the relation to the real situation?

First try it yourself to learn something. We’re not here to do your homework. We’ll be happy to help you if you post your own attempt to interpret. Then we can correct it, add whatever!

If it’s true, you can post the attempt.

Thank you. Good question will be the Housework Forum in the future. Students optimize their time by adjusting their homework on this forum and then waiting for the result and many dear fellow human beings, take the time and solve something others don’t want to solve – a “prima” idea and a hurrah on our education system!

Yeah, I know. Here are many lazy pupils who can do their homework. Many users who respond to this will only want to profile here and this is very bad, because the students learn nothing about it.
