Can you copy video files as many times as you like?
A purely technical question: Can I copy a movie file back and forth an unlimited number of times without loss or wear and tear? For example, from a USB stick to an SSD – and back again. Again and again. Or will errors creep in, which you could then see/hear when watching the movie, say, after the 10,000th copy?
Sure!
As long as the SSD still works, yes.
Otherwise, for example, websites after 1 million would be Don’t call to be identical anymore, as the server repeatedly copies the files.
Even with older CDs/DVDs the quality is not worse, the error rate is too high, the file can no longer be loaded.
Super answer, it’s really logical that I didn’t think of. Thank you.
Yes, in this case, one could even say that the technique is better than nature: when copying the DNA, mistakes are always creeping – which lead to genetic diseases.
