Can you use tampons at night?

Hey! I've switched from pads to tampons and I'm doing great with them, because I almost hate them! Now the only problem is at night. I wear night pads, which I also find awful, and I would use tampons overnight a thousand times over. My only problem is that I sleep about 10 hours on the weekends 😂 and everywhere online it says to change them for a maximum of 8 hours, or just before bedtime and right after getting up. Do you think that would work for 10 hours, or should I stick with pads for the night? Thanks in advance for your answers 🙂

Hello

You really shouldn’t leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours.

Of course, millions of women have left a tampon for 10 hours or more without what happened, but it still holds a risk.

The longer a tampon stays inside, the more likely it will be that you will get an infection, inflammation or fungal (which does not mean you will get something of it automatically). So I recommend to keep you to these 8 hours, because bacteria and pathogens feel really comfortable in such a warm, humid and nutritious taampon and organize mitosen and orgien.

If you want to take the risk because you feel safe here still a tip to minimize the chance of one of the above things: wash before you introduce the second tampon for the night properly thoroughly your hands. Put your vaginal area back with a damp cloth and then introduce the tampon with the clean hands. Thus, you can minimise the number of bacteria coming from the outside that may harm.

I hope I could help you 🙃

Good luck 🍀

Don’t think it’s bad if it’s 10 hours, just change right after getting up. I would still, depending on how strong your period is at night, maybe add a bandage if the tampon should be too full. But just try it out.

I’ve never used bandages, and so I’ve worn tampons at night until I’ve moved to the Menstruationstass sometime.

It’s just important to change the tampon when you get up, so you don’t keep it in your body any longer.
