Yes, however, this is only useful if the tear is then processed further accordingly.

For example, I have a recipe for sarma where the rice is pre-cooked with a brewing cube in the cooking water for filling.

But for a rice used as a supplement, I wouldn’t do that.

Normal rice: Yes.

But, for example, Basmati would only cook in salted water because it has a delicious fragrance and taste.
