Can you have an MRI with a metal splinter in your finger?
I have a shoulder MRI appointment today. I've had a tiny metal splinter in my finger for a year, about 2 mm. Can I still do an MRI?

Hi guys, Three weeks ago, I was carrying a package weighing about 20 kg. Afterward, I felt stabbing pain in my lumbar region. Since then, I've been getting back pain whenever I exert myself. Today, it's especially bad. Could it be a slipped disc? Best regards in advance 👋
Hey, I was playing soccer last summer (on the hottest day, must have been around the end of July). I took a really hard shot and probably mishit the ball. It immediately hurt and swelled up (as hard as the bone itself). Four weeks later, I went to an orthopedist, who took an x-ray and…
I've had this for about a week now, and it hurts when I apply pressure. Sometimes it feels like an itchy ache, but not extreme pain, just uncomfortable because it doesn't belong there. It's hard, as if the bone is just sticking out. Could it be a bone spur caused by a pressure sore or…
Hello, I'm a 16-year-old male and have had knee pain from playing basketball for almost a year. I've been to three different orthopedists, had an MRI, and spent at least 40 hours researching what helps with "Chondromalacia Pattelar." I now know that I need to strengthen my legs, butt, and hips, and ideally, stretch them…
Before anyone writes that I should go to the doctor, yes, I will do that tomorrow, I just want to get some information and opinions. I had surgery on my intervertebral disc in January (not fused) I did rehab and everything was fine. I was pain-free again. Now I've had exactly the same pain since…
Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem, because I'm pretty confused and looking for new approaches. A little about me: I'm 25 years old, work as a service technician, and had COVID-19 about two years ago (I'm not vaccinated). Since mid-2021, pain has gradually developed, which now severely limits my daily…
No, the splitter will move uncontrolled through the magnetic field. This could lead to cut injuries.
If I weren’t so sure…
Why don’t you just remove it or remove it yourself?
Especially with metal splinters, you should be careful, as these can also become really problematic in health.
That’s a tip of a fishing hook and that’s pretty deep and hard to find. The doctor has said that if encapsulated and has not ignited, nix can happen, otherwise you can only remove it under general anesthesia. but seems, now I have a problem🙄
If it’s just on my finger, I can’t imagine it’s gonna be a full anaesthesia, it’s just a finger. I’m sure it’s a local anaesthesia. Then you might have to wear a bandage for a few days, but not more.
or put a bottle of whisky behind you and do it yourself!
