Hello!

Yes, you can fill up cooler frost protection with water. Here are the steps you should follow:

  1. Wait until the car is cooled. Then open the cooler cover or the compensating container to check whether the coolant is below the minimum.
  2. Prepare the coolant mixture according to the manufacturer instructions. A mixture of coolant and water in a ratio of 50:50 is usually recommended, but check the exact recommendations for your vehicle.
  3. Use a funnel to pour the coolant into the cooler or the compensating tank until it has reached the correct level.
  4. Close the cooler cover or the compensating container.
  5. Start the engine and run it until it gets warm. Then check the coolant level again and fill it if necessary.

It is important to use the right type and the correct amount of coolant to avoid overheating and engine damage. If you are not sure which coolant is suitable for your vehicle or how much you need, please contact a professional.

Yeah, that’s possible. However, it is important that the 50:50 mixture of coolant and water has the right concentration to protect the cooler from frost damage and corrosion. It is also important to ensure that the cooling system is vented to ensure that no air pockets remain in the system.

Yes, you can only fill up with water, but in the long term it is necessary to check whether freezing protection and water are in the right proportion.

Either in a workshop or with a simple test device. The fact that too much water content results in a reduced anti-freeze effect, in addition to reduced anti-corrosion action, shines in. But also the content of frost protection must not be too high.

Also the selection of the right freeze protection is essential, here the wrong one must not be filled in or different varieties mixed together:

You actually need a refractometer to determine the temperature of the mixture.

you then have to fill coolerFrost protection and after tipping water you are after refractometer approx. -25 grad, this is the standard value of the workshops in Germany.

“Hi, I noticed today that I am at the minimum of the freezing protection.” 😂

WoW , YOU must immediately consult a doctor .😅

And after your successful healing, a person skilled in the art can refill the appropriate freezing protection (G11/12+/12++/13) in the correct mixing ratio 😉

Definitely no longer start the engine. Let the car get cold. Slowly open the container with gloves (turn left), can sometimes spray.
Then fill up to the Max line. Check the flashlight again.

I’m glad you got the right home. However, you should also be able to measure how the forest protection currently looks at the existing cooling liquid and then fill in according to the information on the container.
