In metal chains one can try to bend a hollow ball carefully (with old knife lever). Then insert the ends of the wires and press them again.

Alternatively, you can try to flee two balls (each one at the end) halfway to solder them later.

For drawing in a new chain you can probably attach it provisionally with sewing thread to the old. It should be ensured that enough distance between the “end balls” remains. The new chain must be retracted in such a way that its beginning looks out of the gear box just at the “input side” when the blind is completely in its final position. If you pull the new chain, it must run out of the box. In the normal case, gears and chain length are matched to one another in such a way that the connection point in the other end position does not run into the gear.

Since the rope is made of plastic, the rope ends have only been fused with heat.

Cut off a ball and take the rope at both ends a small bit longer than the distance of the remaining balls.

A second person holds a burning lighter (also goes a tealight when you are alone) above a refractory base.

You put both ends in the flame at the same time. After that both ends immediately lead to each other, brush out a possible flame and keep completely silent when cooling and do not load.

Maybe you need two approaches and some exercise.

Attention! Some plastics burn with dropping drops, which also have a flame. (Polystyrene)

But a new one lasts longer.
