Kann man den Verlag wechseln?
Ich habe meinen ersten Roman bei einem noch sehr kleinen Verlag veröffentlicht. Allerdings bin ich mit diesem Verlag sehr unzufrieden und würde gerne den Verlag wechseln.
Im Vertrag besitzt der Verlag 5 Jahre die Rechte an meinem Roman.
Meine Frage ist also, ob ich danach diesen Roman bei einem anderen Verlag veröffentlichen kann? (sofern sie mich und den Roman haben wollen natürlich)
Und wie schwer ist es bei einem neuen Verlag unterzukommen?
Wie sind eure Erfahrungen mit eurem Verlag, oder habt ihr auch mal den Verlag gewechselt? Wenn ja wie und warum?

Why? If there is no clause that the rights automatically extend if you do not terminate the contract in due time. That’s why it’s best to read the small print.
after five years if nix is otherwise in the contract.
But before you try to look at other publishers, look at your sales figures. These are not necessarily better then with publications in another publisher.
In the meantime, you can try to advertise yourself for your novel, but here I don’t know what clause has been agreed. You could, for example, agree reading in the city books of your choice, etc. But with everything, you’re through your contract. If you advertise yourself, it would be good for the publisher…
Of course, it also depends on your profit margin whether advertising efforts are worthwhile on your part. Or how you can negotiate.
