Kann man Chromteile einbrennen?
Wahrscheinlich ne dumme Frage, die ziemlich schnell mit „Nein“ beantwortet wird, aber nen Versuch ist es ja wert
folgende Sachlage: ich bin grad dabei mein altes Mofa (Zündapp 442-17) wieder auf Vordermann zu bringen
dazu habe ich es jetzt einmal komplett auseinandergenommen. Der Plan ist es jetzt einerseits alle Teile zu reinigen und gegebenenfalls defekte Teile auszutauschen
andererseits sind an einigen Stellen Rost. Nichts dramatisches, aber, wenn ich mir jetzt eh schon mal die Mühe mache alles auseinander zu nehmen, dachte ich mir, dass ich das ganze Moped auch einmal abschleifen, grundieren und neu lackieren kann.
es gibt aber auch teile aus Chrom, wie den Auspuff. Da hatte ich jetzt die Überlegung diese, um sie widerstandsfähiger gegen die Witterung zu machen und, weil es bestimmt cool aussähe, im Ofen einzubrennen, wie man es zum Beispiel von gusseisernen Pfannen kennt.
bei Teilen aus Eisen dürfte das ja kein Problem sein. Jetzt weiß ich aber nicht, was passiert, wenn man Chrom mit Öl bepinselt und bei 200 grad in den Ofen packt.

If the ESD is chrome-plated and you see grate, it can only be the only reason that the chromium layer (very, very hard metal) is minimally damaged. The carrier metal can thereby oxidize. It only helps to remove the chromium layer completely to recoat the ES.
However, this will not make operation to prevent the chromium bath from soiling.
