Yes, that should work, at the latest on the post if it does not have a corresponding device or the printer does not work. They then stick a replacement sticker on it and scan it as soon as it comes the “real” sticker on it.

This also works in packet stations. You also scan the QR code, put the package in a compartment, make it and it’s done. Sometimes (e.g. at Amazon), you don’t even have to pack the stuff, that’s what the postman does. I do this sometimes when the package itself was very broken.

The quality of the boxes used by Amazon is very bad.

In contrast, the boxes we use for shipping heavy packages of 28 kg by express to the USA are of significantly better quality and can be reused without any problems.

In addition, the contract between Amazon and DHL is inadequate. Often it takes up to 3 days until an order arrives. In comparison, many other logistics companies offer a delivery on the next working day.
