Moin! It sounds like a bad situation. Let me explain to you what the messengers and numbers from other countries look like and what might happen to you.

So, with WhatsApp, Telegram and SMS, it’s already that you need a phone number to get started. But there are some tricks and ways people use to trick the system. With WhatsApp, you can’t conjure a completely new number from nothing, but you can use a landline number to verify. You load the app down, enter the landline number and let the code call you. How to use WhatsApp without mobile phone SIM. Telegram’s a little looser on it. They even allow you to log in with a temporary number of such online services. Is’ not quite kosher, but technically possible. For real SMS, it’s getting more tricky. There was a real SIM card. There are online SMS services, but they can usually only receive messages and not send real SMS to normal phone numbers.

Now to your case, that sounds really bad! Someone who’s using your old picture and harassing you through different channels – something goes enormously wrong. It is quite possible that someone from Germany has registered with a foreign number at these services. There are various options for this: VPN services to do as if you were in Holland, online services for temporary numbers or even purchased SIM cards from other countries. That the picture is so old and you don’t have it online, it’s really mysterious. Maybe someone has access to old data from you? Or the picture showed up somewhere where you don’t suspect it?

What you can do: Document everything! Take screenshots, save messages. Log in to all platforms as a fake/accumulation. Think about who could have access to the old picture. If it gets too big, get to the police! They can help with this. See if your own accounts are safe. Maybe put new, strong passwords everywhere?

It’s a really nasty situation, but don’t let you go! With the right steps, it got in the grip. And remember, you’re not alone with it. Gives enough people and places to help you!

But I’m glad that’s getting more mysterious with your picture. If you don’t have it online, it could be that someone from your environment somehow got the picture in their hands. Nevertheless, I would advise you to go to the police – they might find out more than you think, just when it comes to these new harassments. Don’t be intimidated, you have a right to stop the crap!
