The USB 3 designation is a disaster. Some USB 3.x version have been renamed.

USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 are all the same standard that can transfer 5 GBit/s.

In the end, USB is also backward compatible.

You can use your disk without any problems at full speed on your laptop.

Yes you can because the USB device is down compatible ^^

Ggf is a bit slower since USB 3.0 is something slower than USB 3.2 Gen 1
