Personally, I wouldn’t trust a self-test, but let my blood examine properly in the laboratory by the doctor.

After 8 years, you can have infected yourself several times.

After 3, at the latest 6 months, a negative test can take off the whole for the one action.

With test, however, I mean the test with doctor. I don’t see test strips as particularly safe as regards the result.
