Hello dear community, I was scammed yesterday. 106 euros were debited from my PayPal account with the explanation that the buyer had not authorized the purchase, which is obviously a lie. Unfortunately, I sold via the chat platform Discord. The perpetrator deleted all of his chats that could have shown that he had agreed. Now I'm at a loss because I have no clear evidence except for my chats on the date we made the sale, and since it was a virtual item, there's no clear proof that this user is linked to his PayPal account. I'm sure he also changed his name and email address on PayPal. I've already contacted PayPal, but since it was a chargeback directly with the credit institution, PayPal only described the money as on hold. The perpetrator is probably American, which is why I'm leaning towards filing a complaint directly with the Institute for Cyber Crime https://www.ic3.gov
