Can I travel to the USA every 3 months?

If I want to spend a long time in the USA, let's say a year, but I am only allowed to spend 90 days in the USA as a German citizen, I could theoretically leave the USA after three months and come back in one day later, and I can do that for a whole year, over and over again.

As a rule of thumb, as long as you were out of the country.

After this rule you could after approx. 3 months again without problems.

“Returning ESTA” often has its own line.

The questioning does not take place at all or as samples. You use a kiosk for the whole proceder.

You just have to be able to explain everything in a conclusive manner if you are asked where the whole holiday and the money comes from.

But the fact is: the actual entry always only grants you the officer at the point of entry. He can also deny them.

If you want to stay longer, apply for a B-1/2 visa. You can stay in the USA for a maximum of 180 days.

If you want to stay there for more than 90 days, apply for a visa. Easy. You don’t have to leave for that, and then come back.

as I always read everywhere that the beamed hit the final decision on site and can send you away.

Yeah, that’s right! It’s a pity that you’re asked to leave. But for that he has a reason. He certainly doesn’t look like you look, etc… You have to answer the questions truthfully, then everything is okay. If you’re hiding something, he knows it like that. Then it’s your fault. If you travel back after 3 months you will be suspicious.

If you’re rejected, I’d go against it if you’re back. Shouldn’t happen if you’re well prepared.

Yeah, theoretical. But the USA is an incredibly suspicious country. I once traveled with a preliminary ID and then had to make two hours of interrogations about me. Once in my hand luggage I had a small control unit for the automotive industry. So a pattern. That’s where they’ve rusted me three times and interrogated me three hours.
I don’t think that’s so easy.

Theoretically this goes and you can so often want to go to the USA with the Esta.

Practically, the second time you want to do this and only a day abroad were asked what you want to go back to the USA and your entry is rejected.

If you want to stay in the U.S. for more than 3 months, it’s better if you get a B1/2 visa, so you can stay up to 6 months in the US.

The maximum stay in the United States is 90 days. With the ESTA visa you can travel to the USA as often as you like. Without exception, you only have to observe the two-year period of validity. You can stay in the USA for up to 90 days per trip.

ESTA is No Visa and you cannot travel as often as you like.
You have to adhere to the requirements. Maximum 90 days per piece. (or less, if less approved) Maximum 180 days during 12 months and always remember, only the officer at the point of entry decides about the actual entry. He does not have to justify a rejection and his decision cannot be contested.
