Can't move app files to SD card?

I want to move an app's files to my SD card, but every time I try, it says I don't have any storage space… which isn't right! What do I do now? I can't leave the app on my phone because I don't have any space… Samsung a22

One cannot move apps to the memory card, at least most not, that depends on the security rights of Android along with the more recent versions, with the old versions that went. The memory cards are used to move large data such as videos, photos, etc. to Android.

Hello,

You can move APPs to the SD card – but not all. Even if you can “shift” it, it’s only fractions and the next APP update will be postponed again.

There are only 2 options:

  1. neatly “Ausmisten”, i.e. to delete everything you don’t need to sort out APPs that you rarely/he doesn’t use, to move your own data like images/music/videos/documents to the SD card
  2. the SD card as “internal memory” format and thus expand the internal memory

Best regards from Leipzig

If you want to move an app to the SD card, make sure that the card is correctly formatted (as internal) and has enough free memory. Go to the app settings, select the app and try to move the data to the SD card. If this doesn’t go, open the internal memory and check if the app supports moving.

The SD card must be formatted accordingly. Usually exFAT or FAT32.

FAT32 you should try first, that should work in any case. Unfortunately, then the maximum partition size is limited to 32GB

How much storage is on the map? If the FAT32 is formatted, no single file may be larger than 4GB.
