Camera doesn't recognize new SD card?
I bought a new Intenso SDHC Class 10 card; it has 8 GB of storage capacity, as my aging Samsung ES 25 can't handle more than that. The card is formatted in FAT32 and can be accessed, written to, and read from my Windows 11 PC with an SD card adapter.
However, my camera displays a card error that I can't resolve even by reformatting it to FAT32. I'm happy with my cheap Samsung camera because I don't want to take my Sony SLR with me on vacation to Namibia (where the sand is endless). Does the reported SD card error have anything to do with the SDHC Class 10 specification?
Often, the cameras themselves can format the data carriers. See if you find something like that.
Thank you for your effort. Of course, my camera also has a formatting option, only if the message “card error” appears on the display, everything, i.e. also the menu function, is blocked with the format command. On the idea of re-formatting the cards on my PC with FAT32, I’ve already come myself, she hasn’t brought anything. Bing Chat-GPT only confirmed that my problem cannot exist. So no fear of the AI, which is often quite stupid :-).
