Many banks from Deutsche Bank to Santander or Sparkasse (?) do not allow an account for Germans living abroad.

This is not true if the German is active for a German company, or for example abroad for a German embassy or for the Bundeswehr he can retain his previous bank connection in Germany.

you have to find out for yourself. At least I know that a friend worked in South Africa for 5 years and that the family also lived there, but his account in Germany continued to exist as he was still registered with a subsidiary residence.

Do not believe everything you get to read here in the forum.

An example of this, all the wives of US soldiers living in Germany are reported with a subsidiary residence in Germany.

No! You just have to tax revenue if you don’t get one, not

There is also another possibility for the secondary residence.

  1. the neighboring residence is with your parents and you live there for free.
  2. you have a condo or house in Germany.
  3. you live with grandparents, siblings or uncles to pay without rent.
