One pair of headphones fell into the sink (without water) and somehow the sound on that one is now so quiet and distorted, while the other one still works fine.
Is there anything I can do about it or is it completely gone now?

it can still attack contacts and the circuit board over time as already mentioned. Just because it works, it is not dry/clean.
