Did you trust the link? Rheinwerk has openbooks that you can read for free. The printed (newest) issue costs money.

Question was “what is good” and “what is not exactly 50€”. Both conditions are fulfilled.

Jup. The book was downloadable for free as PDF (https://www.heise.de/download/product/java-ist-auch-ein-insel-49226) – but that doesn’t exist anymore for the current version …

But you can download the online version yes (there are browser plug-ins for …?).

What you can download is stop from 2012.

This is completely sufficient for Java learning. What comes to it is nothing you would need in first learning.

Universities have libraries. If you are not yet immatriculated, a city library does.

I could recommend “Java is also an island” but it costs 60€, but I could also recommend the Java books of Kindle (costed unfäht 10€)
