The sentence below the invoice is crucial:

Shipping, packaging and insurance are not eligible for discounts.

Therefore, the discount can only be applied to the pure value of the goods .

So you have to calculate:

Net value of goods – 2.5%

+ Transport and packaging net

+ Transport insurance net

= Subtotal

+ 19% VAT

= gross amount to be paid.

Then you can deduct the 2.5% discount

Deduct the discount from the value of the goods, then add transport, packaging and transport insurance, and then add the VAT to this amount. That's it.

Value of goods: 100 x 2.5, then you have the 2.5% discount

Invoice amount – Discount you have the transfer amount

You have to do the math yourself

This would lead to the wrong result due to the last sentence:

Shipping, packaging and insurance are not eligible for discounts.

The discount therefore only applies to the value of the goods and not to the total invoice price at the end.

Thanks, I noticed and corrected it. You're absolutely right, of course 😁

Yes, correct, thanks for the correction

Unfortunately it's not quite correct yet, but much closer 🙂

You cannot calculate gross invoice amount – net discount.

The discount must also be subject to 19% VAT because the invoice only shows the net value of the goods. A new subtotal is created and the VAT is added to this subtotal.

Rechne doch mal 2,5% vom Rechnungsbetrag 23792,86 aus und ziehe diese ausgerechneten 2,5% vom Rechnungsbetrag 23792,86 ab.

Calculate 2.5% of the invoice amount 23792.86 and subtract this calculated 2.5% from the invoice amount 23792.86.

This would lead to the wrong result due to the last sentence:

Shipping, packaging and insurance are not eligible for discounts.

The discount only applies to the value of the goods and not to the total price at the end.

Yes, then deduct 2.5% from the invoice amount. It's clearly visible.
