This depends entirely on the conditions of your studies. If you’re not sure, talk to your fellow students or Prof. Trying at least once on a simplified version will not hurt.

Jau! Even if it doesn’t work at the end, you will get to know new areas of Java and gain experience, which will surely help you in the future.

If you’d have a try on Pacman, it’s certainly not a bad idea; if you can do it in time.
