Is my hard drive still working or is it defective?

Dear GF community, I seem to have serious problems with my Windows 10 on my PC!

The horrible blue screen struck with a memory error and the message " 1720 SMART hard drive has detected impending failure. Faulty drive: SATA2 … Faulty attribute: #00.

What should I do now?

I would have said reinstall Windows 10. But if the hard drive is broken… I just don't know what to do! 😕

Thanks for your help!

Can be a mistake.

Either he’s only temporary, so she’s smashed or the controller or something else is broken.

You should best expand the SSD and test it on another computer.

Or you can run a test by BootCD, you don’t have to go to Windows.

But first try the proposed diagnosis.

Hm…

Okay, then there’s something lazy…

Probably the computer tries to read or describe it, but fails in the attempt.

If she’s really in the bucket, you need a new one. But I would….

  • Check cabling
  • Connect to other SATA port
  • Test other SATA cable.
  • test other plate

Or is that a notebook?

SMART-Attribute 00 says no to me. K.A. whether this is already part of the problem.

I would check the SSD once with “CrystalDiskInfo”

Yeah, I thought the mistake was already happening when it was turned on. But I’m getting sick. – Built into another PC, of course.

The hard disk is “short before defect” or “short before 100% failure.”

Please replace.
