Ist mein Termin bei der Augenärztin sinnvoll?
Mein ehemaliger Augenarzt ist jetzt in Pension. Dann habe ich einen Termin bei einer neuen Augenärztin ausgemacht. Jetzt steht auf ihrer Webseite, dass sie aus Kapazitätsgründen keine neuen Patientinnen mehr aufnehmen kann.
Mein Termin ist in einem Monat. Mich hat sie damals noch aufgenommen. Eigentlich will ich nur hingehen, damit ich nicht auf einmal ohne Augenarzt dastehe. Ob mein Besuch bei der neuen Augenärztin sinnvoll ist, bezweifle ich allerdings.
Das letzte Mal hatte ich etwas mit den Augen vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr. Da habe ich zum ersten Mal im Dunkeln links seitlich Blitze gesehen, was allerdings das Sehen nicht sehr beeinträchtigt, weil die Blitze weit außen sind.
Damals ging ich in die Notaufnahme der Augenklinik, weil ich etwas Schlimmes befürchtete. Der Grund für die Blitze wurde nicht gefunden, und ich habe das nach wie vor unverändert. Ich habe mich daran schon gewöhnt, es stört nicht sehr. Ich bin auch nicht mehr die Jüngste, und mit zunehmendem Alter hat man eben dies und das.
Allerdings wurde in der Augenklinik ein kleines rundes Loch in der Netzhaut gefunden. Das wurde mit Argon Laser Koagulation geflickt, hat aber nichts mit den nächtlichen Blitzen zu tun.
So weit so gut. Soll ich da jetzt hingehen? Ich habe sonst jetzt nichts mit den Augen. Macht eine Kontrolle Sinn, wenn nichts mit den Augen ist? Wenn ich dann wirklich einmal etwas habe, wird sie mich nicht mehr nehmen.

The flashes I find at least a little disturbing, can e.g. indicate retinal detachment, but if the doctors have not found anything to date…

Take your appointment, just because of the small round hole in the retina, which has been patched. At our age, the ophthalmologist is an important doctor and you should be happy if you have one and not wg. New patient stop is rejected.
