Is it your own fault if you work in jobs where you earn little?
It's no secret that jobs like hairdresser, educator, retail, waiter, florist, etc. don't really pay well. So isn't it the people's own fault if they take up these jobs and then complain about the wages?
Jein. Hangs in context.
Yes you chose yourself and of course had the option to choose something else.
But no one is, of course, not guilty of the bad payment and must, of course, complain about the general bad financial appreciation of the profession.
Is the difference
“I find it common that you deserve more just because you have learned X” => not ok because the other person does not have to learn the profession and the other person is not owed to it that she deserves better.
and
“I find it in common that the profession is so little valued and would wish me a general hourly wage of at least X” => completely ok, this is an existent problem.
And hairdressers, for example, have absolutely my sympathy because I am not a friend of this trained professionals to pay minimum wages. Minimum wage is a sub-limit which guarantees unskilled. I think professionals should be lying about it.
Basically. Everyone has the choice, what and how.
If you get a job, you can inform yourself about the merit in advance and inform yourself about it during the interviews. What you get in the profession can differ from business to business. Then it is up to you to decide for what operation you choose. If it doesn’t fit, you still have the opportunity to change the employer or take another path. You can earn only 1000 – 1300€ net as an educator, but also 1700 – 2200€ net. This has nothing to do with the profession.
Of course, it is possible to excite yourself about the low remuneration, but you have chosen it yourself. No one is forced to go to work for the minimum wage or as a coward.
I have a midi job myself because I want to work part-time. I get less, of course, but I have more spare time. I’m not upset about it because I decided to do it myself.
I think that’s really difficult. That’s what I used to think. Everyone’s looking for his job.
But if no one would take such professions, we’d all have a problem.
It is simply one of the VIELEN injustices that brings life with it.
Earnings is not the only aspect. How much are you ready to pay for a barber visit?
One does not exclude the other. You can work in such a profession and find that you are paid too little.
If someone’s enthusiasm for a particular activity is more important than financial equipment, that is his personal free choice.
The retail sector has a strong lack of personnel. Almost 2000 net + holiday and Christmas money + supplements do you find little?
Then look at yourself in other professions. Most people earn real under 2000 €.
And no, you don’t have to. Look at collective agreements and look for a job on this basis. So you get 2000€ + supplements and Christmas + holiday money as an entry fee.
If you want more and more, you have to make yourself self-employed, work as leadership or work up.
Often yes, because those who don’t have a ball at school today are cheap pupils tomorrow.
This is bullshit, because parents tell their children.
