Citric acid is a carboxylic acid and a good decalcifying agent.
It has nothing to do with vitamin C = ascorbic acid.
In 100 g of meat there is about as much vitamin C as in a lemon, since vitamin C is added to the meat for preservation and color preservation.
There is therefore usually no vitamin C deficiency in Germany.
Often, however, especially in winter, is a vitamin D deficiency.

Hello

Citric acid and vitamin C, or otherwise stated ascorbic acid, are two different substances!

It may be that there are also rubber bears that are enriched with the latter, but then that would also be on it – probably thicker than the citric acid, which only ensures acidic taste.

In lemon juice, besides citric acid, is also ascorbic acid, i.e. vitamin C.

Pure citric acid, however, is not produced from lemons and does not contain vitamin C.
