Is it normal that I have to pay another 150 euros after the TÜV approval?

Hello everyone,

I live in North Rhine-Westphalia and signed up for a driving school a month or two ago. I paid about €350 when I registered. Then I had to pay another €70 to the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) when I applied for my driver's license. Now I've received a letter from the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) telling me I have to pay another €150.

I was under the impression that these €70 were already included in the €150 fee, since the driving school didn't tell me about the €70. Is this normal, or was I perhaps charged additional fees that I wasn't aware of? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Ich mach mal aus Neugier ‘ne Umfrage. Ich bin Ortsfremd hier und komme an diese Ampel. (Nach ein paar Fahrten durch den Ort hatte ich die Beschilderung begriffen.) Ich will der Straße “geradeaus” weiter Folgen. (Bei meiner ersten Fahrt, war ich auf dem Holzweg.) Was ist richtig. (Lösung schreibe ich später mal als Kommentare.)

Do you think you’re messing up? You don’t order the driving licence application from the TÜV, but from the driving licence authority. It takes several weeks before the TÜV test order is issued. Before, the TÜV does not know that you want a driving permit.

The 350€ was the basic fee for the driving school, the 150€ correspond to the examination fee for the TÜV.

Jaa that is true the 70€ were at the road traffic office

That’s right. And it will not remain, because for the two performances on the TÜV exams, the driving school will also pay about the same fees.

And then, of course, for every hour.
