Is it bad to wash a backpack that is not allowed to be washed?

Hello, I have a question. I washed a polyester backpack of mine with cold water in the bathtub and, unfortunately, being the clumsy person I am, only noticed afterward on the label that this backpack should not be washed in any way because there was a large X everywhere. Now I'm wondering if this will ruin the backpack or if it's not that bad. Thanks for the help.

If the backpack is dry again, and nothing has broken, you don’t have to worry. It would be possible that it is no longer sufficiently impregnated, therefore perhaps water-permeable. You can only try this and then reimagine it. There are such means to buy.

at some point realized that much is not washable or only at 30 degrees etc. , because otherwise the companies cannot save themselves from any claims for damages. I’ll take the washing instructions Ernst, but if something wrong happens, I’ve usually managed to do it all. (except a real small wool part in white at 90 degrees accidentally. That was kind of awfully short….)

This applies to washing instructions. With the dryer, everything was possible, mostly the parts that should not enter. Since then only 90 degrees of laundry, bed linen and towels, the rest of leash….

In some backpacks or bags, cardboard is in the bottom and/or in the back part for stiffening. It could take too much water.

The handwashing with cold water had to let me see some bags and backpacks. Most have survived.

With cold water it should not be a major problem. The backpack will be able to rain.

There are impregnating sprays for shoes, umbrellas, tents etc. It could be treated after drying.
