It makes little sense. In the case of an anesthesia one is always switched off so far by means of sleeping and painkillers that one must also be beaten.
An insomnia narcosis, a so-called sedation, in which one sleeps only a little and breathes itself is only possible if a pain suppression takes place in another way, for example by a spinal anaesthesia (i.e. spinal anaesthesia).
Maybe you should take some more experience, which is now planned for you. But to answer your question: an anesthesia is very safe today. There are almost no major complications in semi-synthetic people and planned surgery (not in emergency treatments). Frequent complications are circulatory problems or hoarseness, swallowing problems and hasl pain due to the respiratory tube (if used). Allergies are also conceivable. You can also die in theory, but the chance for it is probably less than to be hit by lightning with thunderstorms.
Many do not like anesthesia, especially when they wake up. Many are bad. I find it horny. As packed in cotton. Full on drug🤤
That’s not a big deal and that you die is as unlikely to win as in the lottery.
I already had 50 surgery and still live 😌
They have this under control, you are constantly monitored and this easy sedation is well tolerated. These are professionals who make this every day 👍
So I didn’t notice anything😅
